Description:
This product is a suspension of fine particles. The fine particles sink after standing and become a uniform off-white suspension after shaking.
[Indications]
Used for Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial infections in pigs and cattle caused by amoxicillin-sensitive bacteria.
Pharmacological action:
Amoxicillin inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, causing bacteria in the growth phase to quickly become spherical and then rupture and lyse. It has good antibacterial activity against various Gram-positive bacteria such as Streptococcus, non-penicillinase-producing Staphylococci, Clostridium, and Gram-negative bacteria such as Pasteurella, hemolytic Mannheimia, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella.
After intramuscular injection in pigs and cattle, the bioavailability is 60% to 100%, and the peak blood concentration reaches 1.5 to 4.5 μg/ml 1 to 3 hours after injection.
After injection of this product in pigs and cattle, the blood concentration above MICo was maintained for 36 hours and 72 hours respectively. After repeated injection (48 hours between 2 injections), the pharmacokinetic parameters were stable and there was no accumulation effect. It is mainly excreted through the kidneys in the active form.
Drug Interactions:
Macrolide, sulfonamide, and tetracycline antibiotics inhibit bacterial protein synthesis. Concomitant use with these antibiotics may reduce the bactericidal effect of amoxicillin.
Usage and Dosage
Calculated as amoxicillin. Intramuscular injection: single dose, per kg body weight, 15 mg for pigs and cattle. If necessary, another injection can be given after 48 hours.
