Pharmacological Action
Folic acid is reduced and methylated into active 5-methyltetrahydrofolate after entering the body. Monomethyltetrahydrofolate acts as a methyl donor to convert vitamin 12 into methyl vitamin and itself becomes tetrahydrofolate. Tetrahydrofolate, as a coenzyme of one-carbon group transferase, participates in the synthesis and metabolism of various amino acids, proteins and leukocytes in the body, and promotes the growth and maturation of red blood cells together with vitamin 1Z. When folic acid is deficient, the synthesis of amino acids, proteins and leukocytes is blocked, resulting in reduced nucleic acid synthesis, incomplete cell division and development. The main pathological manifestations are megaloblastic anemia, diarrhea, impaired skin function and growth and development stunting.

No adverse reactions have been observed when used according to the prescribed dosage.

[Precautions]
(1) It is ineffective for megaloblastic anemia caused by methoxychlor.
(2) For "pernicious anemia" caused by vitamin B12 deficiency, high-dose folic acid treatment can correct blood counts, but cannot improve neurological symptoms.
