Product Description

Introduction of Kanamycin Sulfate Injection

Generic Name: Kanamycin Sulfate Injection
Main Component: Kanamycin Sulfate
Characteristic: This product is a colorless to yellowish clear liquid
Pharmacologic action:
Pharmacodynamics: Kanamycin belongs to aminoglycoside antibiotics. Its antibacterial spectrum is similar to streptomycin, but its effect is slightly stronger. It has strong antibacterial effect on most gram-negative bacilli, such as Escherichia Coli, Proteus, Salmonella and Pasteurella multocida, and is also sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, gram-positive bacteria (except Staphylococcus aureus), Rickettsia, anaerobes and fungi are resistant to this product. Similar to streptomycin, sensitive bacteria are prone to resistance to kanamycin. There is cross resistance with neomycin and one-way cross resistance with streptomycin. Acquired drug resistance often occurs in escherichia coli and other gram-negative bacteria.
Pharmacokinetics: The intramuscular injection absorbed rapidly, reaching the peak concentration in blood within 0.5-1.5 hours. It was widely distributed in pleural effusion, ascites and parenchyma organs, but rarely penetrated into saliva, bronchial secretions ad normal cerebrospinal fluid. When meningitis occurs, the drug concentration in cerebrospinal fluid can be increased by about one time. It is very low in bile and fees. It is mainly excreted through glomerular filtration. 40%~80% of the injection dose is excreted from urine in the original form. Two hours after intramuscular injection of 75mg/kg to goats, the urine concentration can reach 8300μg/ml.A small amount can be excreted from the milk. After intramuscular injection, the elimination half-life of the product in horses, buffaloes, cattle, dairy goats and pigs is 2.1 to 2.8 hours.
Drug Interactions:
  1. It has synergistic effect with penicillin or cephalosporin.
  2. In alkaline environment, the antibacterial effect is enhanced, and when combined with alkaline drugs (such as sodium bicarbonate, aminophylline, etc.), the antibacterial effect can be enhanced, but the toxicity is also increased accordingly. When pH exceeds 8.4, the antibacterial effect is weakened.
  3. Combined with cephalosporin, dextran, powerful diuretics (such as furosemide), erythromycin, etc., it can enhance the ototoxicity of this product.
  4. Skeletal muscle relaxants (such as succinylcholine chloride) or drugs with such effects can enhance the neuromuscular blockade effect of these drugs.
Indication and usage: Aminoglycoside antibiotics. It is used to treat speticemia, urinary tract and respiratory tract infections, and also for pig asthma.
Administration and Dosage: Intramuscular Injection: 0.1-0.1ml per 1kg body weight for livestock. Twice a day for 3-5 consecutive days.
Adverse Reaction:
  1. It has cross allergy with other aminoglycosides, and is prohibited for animals allergic to aminoglycosides.
  2. Not recommend when dehydration or renal function damage occurs to the affected animal..
  3. When treating urinary tract infection, taking sodium bicarbonate orally at the same time can enhance the efficacy.
  4. Cations such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, NH4+and K+can inhibit the antibacterial activity of the product.
  5. Anti cholinesterase drugs such as neostigmine and calcium preparations (calcium gluconate) can be used to antagonize the muscle conduction block effect in acute poisoning.
Withdrawal Period: 28 days for livestock. The milk rejection period is 7 days.
