Pharmacological properties
This product is a general term for pyridoxine, pyridoxal, and pyridoxamine, which have similar biological effects in animals. Vitamin B generates physiologically active pyridoxal phosphate and pyridoxine phosphate through enzyme action in the body. It is a coenzyme of aminotransferase, decarboxylase, and racemase, and participates in the metabolism of amino acids, proteins, fats, and sugars in the body. In addition, vitamin B also plays an important role in the conversion of linoleic acid to arachidonic acid.
Vitamin B deficiency is uncommon in adult ruminants, but calves with deficiency may experience anorexia, diarrhea, vomiting, poor growth, visual impairment, microcytic hypochromic anemia, and neurological dysfunction due to peripheral nerve demyelination; deficiency in dogs and cats can cause loss of appetite, weight loss, ataxia, convulsions and myocardial damage, as well as microcytic hypochromic anemia.
