Gentamicin Sulfate Injection
Composition:
Gentamycin sulfate…..100mg
Contra-indications:
Used to treat sensitive Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial infections, such as sepsis, urogenital tract infections, respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal tract infections, peritonitis, biliary tract infections, mastitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and infectious rhinitis.
Dosage and Administration:
Intramuscular injection: single dose, per kg body weight, livestock 0.050.1ml; dogs and cats 0.075~0.125ml. Twice a day, for 2~3 consecutive days.
Drug interactions:
(1) Gentamicin may have antagonistic effects when used in combination with tetracycline, erythromycin, etc.
(2) The ototoxicity of this product may be enhanced when used in combination with cephalosporins, dextran, potent diuretics (such as furosemide, etc.), erythromycin, etc.
(3) Skeletal muscle relaxants (such as succinylcholine chloride, etc.) or drugs with such effects may enhance the neuromuscular blocking effect of this product.
Pay attention
(1) Gentamycin can be combined with β-lactam antibiotics to treat severe infections, but there are incompatibility taboos when mixed in vitro.
(2) This product has a synergistic effect on streptococci when combined with penicillin.
(3) It has a respiratory depressant effect and is not suitable for intravenous injection.
Withdrawal Period:
Pigs: 40 days; cattle and sheep: 40 days.
